It is with a heavy heart that I write this. Due to the sudden passing of our brother Paul Whybrew last evening it does not feel right to play golf tomorrow night. The golf course has graciously agreed to let us treat tomorrow night like a rainout.
For those of you who were not blessed to have met Paul, trust me when I tell you that he was the kindest, funniest, most solid dude many of us have ever known, not to mention a hell of a lot of fun on the golf course. Of all the great people to join this league, Paul was perhaps the most fired up about it and he made a point of telling me and Doug that several times. It is meaningful to me - and I'm sure the rest of you - that he played in our inaugural event.
Please say a prayer for Paul's wife Kim and his family that they might find comfort in the tremendous love and affection that all who knew Paul hold in their hearts for him.
We will resume play next week to honor Paul the way he would want us to do so, by gathering to play some golf, share some laughs, and enjoy the brotherhood.
